Technical & Logistical Support Services

MSG provided technical and logistical support services for the National Assessment Governing Board to ensure strong collaboration across committee members and staff, clearly communicate its work to the public, and foster buy-in from varied stakeholders. MSG provides content area expertise to conduct assessment framework reviews, produces analytic reports using National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) data, and shares findings with the general public.

Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED) Program

MSG provided comprehensive support to the Office of Innovation and Improvement for the Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED) Program. MSG provided support for pre-application meeting; secured grant panel reviewers; set up forms and assigned reviewers, applications, and monitors to panels within G5; provided oversight during the electronic review process; and prepared application data for data.gov.

Student Achievement in Reading (STAR)

MSG worked with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Career & Adult Technical Education (OCTAE) to support their goal of expanding and supporting evidenced-based reading instruction in regional and local adult basic education programs that fulfill select state requirements under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. MSG designed and delivered intensive training and technical assistance to streamline the trainer certification and recertification process by developing and delivering 30 online modules and face-to-face meetings.

Statewide Family Engagement Center Technical Assistance

MSG delivers capacity building services to 20 Statewide Family Engagement Center (SFEC) grantees, supporting them with project start-up, reviewing and improving logic models, enhancing evaluation designs, and identifying performance measures. MSG’s technical assistance also includes performing needs assessments, devising and initiating service plans, and facilitating and executing annual meetings and virtual TWG meetings.

USDA SNAP Store Visits

MSG supports the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Service, through on-site evaluations of retail stores specified by the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). MSG will evaluate stores in the continental United States, Hawaii, portions of Alaska, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Guam by collecting and analyzing data of retail businesses that are applying or renewing their applications to accept SNAP benefits. The data will be used to confirm the site eligibility in SNAP according to relevant laws, regulations, and policies.

H-1B Scaling Apprenticeship Through Sector-Based Strategies TA and Grants Management Support

MSG provided technical assistance (TA) to 23 grantee community colleges and universities that received an H-1B Scaling Apprenticeship Through Sector-Based Strategies grant. The grant program sought to accelerate the expansion of apprenticeships to new industry sectors reliant on H-1B visas, promote the large-scale expansion of apprenticeships across the nation, and increase apprenticeship opportunities for all Americans. Our experts and coaches helped grantees implement the grants more effectively and achieve performance goals.

Sarcopenia and Immobility During COVID-19 Campaign

MSG partnered with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health to lead a national awareness and behavior change campaign on sarcopenia, a condition marked by the loss of muscle mass and strength with age. Targeting women ages 65 and older, along with their caregivers, families, and health care providers, MSG developed a full-scale communications strategy grounded in Applied Empathy to promote prevention, early detection, and treatment.
