MSG conducted a research project on behalf of USDA to identify components that explain the State variations in SNAP administrative expenses, including the impact of geographic pay differences; state and caseload characteristics; and variations in eligibility systems and certification options. The evaluation also determined the relationship between payment accuracy, timeliness in application processing, and program access on State administrative expenses.

MSG revamped the DOL-ETA Career Pathways toolkit to promote and foster the development of career pathways within a Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) framework that align training and education opportunities with occupational and employer needs and job openings. The toolkit can help state offices, partners, and workforce development boards advance the development of career pathways and adopt lessons learned and promising practices from the field.

MSG developed a valid and reliable method to assess an error in the multimillion-dollar Child and Adult Food Care Program (CACFP), a program that provides nutritious food to ensure wellness, healthy growth, and the development of young children. 

Provide support on strategies to improve customer satisfaction with the effectiveness of the offshore inspection program for oil and gas facilities in the Gulf of Mexico.

Provide support to the Bureau of Safety & Environmental Enforcement (BSEE) on strategies to improve customer satisfaction with the effectiveness of offshore inspection programs for oil and gas facilities in the Gulf of Mexico. 

Develop a benchmarking methodology and tool that will enable federal agencies to compare the performance and cost of managing transactions inhouse against the industry leaders (federal shared service providers (SSPs)).

Support the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation to develop a calculator web app and replication to-go kit to help families and caseworkers navigate marginal tax rates, also know as benefits cliff, and plot a path towards self-sufficiency.

MSG provided technical assistance and support to more than 413 Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB) Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) Program grantees to measure and monitor grantee performance, provide training and consultation, and facilitate collaboration.

Research into the key characteristics of afterschool programs that have shown measurable success in helping high school students – particularly those from high-poverty, low-performing schools – perform better in school and achieve other learning-related outcomes.
