Ahead of COABE Conference, Manhattan Strategy Group Supports Release of STAR Research Synthesis for Adult Ed Practitioners

Bethesda, MD – STudent Achievement in Reading (STAR), a national professional development initiative for adult reading instruction, has just released its latest research synthesis for practitioners in advance of the Coalition on Adult Basic Education (COABE) 2023 National Conference, April 2–5 in Atlanta, GA. The research synthesis was developed with the support of two national reading experts, Dr. John Sabatini, a Distinguished Research Professor at the University of Memphis, and Dr. Elizabeth Tighe, an Associate Professor at Georgia State University.

Her paper, titled A Community-Academic Partnership to Prevent and Reduce Substance Use Disorders in Metropolitan Detroit During COVID-19, discusses how the COVID-19 pandemic, along with activism against institutional racism, heightened awareness of racial-ethnic disparities and disproportionate burden among the underserved.

Manhattan Strategy Group Wins National Center for the Strategic Support of the Preschool Development Grants Birth through Five

Bethesda, MD – MSG was recently awarded a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services contract to provide technical support to state Preschool Development Grants Birth through Five (PDG B-5) grantees. This support includes the provision of universal, targeted, and intensive technical assistance (TA) and resource development, leading to stronger outcomes for states and improved coordination and implementation of early childhood education services and programs.
