Technical Assistance to Rural SEAs, Districts, and Grantees

MSG provided customized technical assistance to state educational agencies and middle and high schools to support designing and implementing effective school dropout prevention and reentry programs. Working with rural communities in states such as Alaska, Arkansas, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, and West Virginia, MSG convened technical work group meetings, planned and executed national meetings, and developed outreach summaries, webinars, and dropout prevention toolboxes.

You for Youth Professional Development Portal

MSG worked with the U.S. Department of Education to improve access to and quality of professional development and training content for 21st CCLC practitioners. MSG designed an online portal and used it to prepare and distribute research-based professional development, training, industry promising practices, and technical assistance materials. MSG also developed a Community of Practice that included online webinars, discussion threads, and a coaching module to enable peer-to-peer learning and exchange.

Technical & Logistical Support Services

MSG provided technical and logistical support services for the National Assessment Governing Board to ensure strong collaboration across committee members and staff, clearly communicate its work to the public, and foster buy-in from varied stakeholders. MSG provides content area expertise to conduct assessment framework reviews, produces analytic reports using National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) data, and shares findings with the general public.

Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED) Program

MSG provided comprehensive support to the Office of Innovation and Improvement for the Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED) Program. MSG provided support for pre-application meeting; secured grant panel reviewers; set up forms and assigned reviewers, applications, and monitors to panels within G5; provided oversight during the electronic review process; and prepared application data for data.gov.

Student Achievement in Reading (STAR)

MSG worked with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Career & Adult Technical Education (OCTAE) to support their goal of expanding and supporting evidenced-based reading instruction in regional and local adult basic education programs that fulfill select state requirements under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. MSG designed and delivered intensive training and technical assistance to streamline the trainer certification and recertification process by developing and delivering 30 online modules and face-to-face meetings.

Statewide Family Engagement Center Technical Assistance

MSG delivers capacity building services to 20 Statewide Family Engagement Center (SFEC) grantees, supporting them with project start-up, reviewing and improving logic models, enhancing evaluation designs, and identifying performance measures. MSG’s technical assistance also includes performing needs assessments, devising and initiating service plans, and facilitating and executing annual meetings and virtual TWG meetings.

Office of Indian Education Support Services

MSG provides support services, grant review logistics, administrative activities, and analysis and report writing support for the Office of Indian Education Analysis, Report Writing and Competitions Support Contract funded by the Office of Indian Education (OIE) within the U.S. Department of Education. MSG supported the National Advisory Council on Indian Education in creating its annual Congressional reports, crafting a social media and outreach strategy to assist OIE in growing its listserv and establishing a Education Regional Rolodex to increase social media outreach.

Office of Indian Education Meeting and Logistics Support

MSG offered comprehensive meeting, planning, and peer review management supporting the National Advisory Council on Indian Education (NACIE) for the Office of Indian Education (OIE) within the U.S. Department of Education. MSG coordinated meeting venues throughout six different cities across the U.S. and standardized meeting documentation. MSG provided technology and transcription services and made recordings and reports 508 compliant.
