Manhattan Strategy Group recently developed two informational resources to share information about the STudent Achievement in Reading (STAR) training – a state-based professional development initiative aimed at supporting adult education instructors and their intermediate-level reading learners. Some Big Ideas of STAR describe the approach and intended audience of the training as well as some of the research-based approaches to learning and professional development the training utilizes. Information for States New to STAR Training provides an overview of the training curriculum and topics and identifies keys to a successful training that states who are joining the training for the first time will want to consider.
