MSG Cares Initiative Donates Over $10K to Local Charities
January 01, 2019

BETHESDA, MD – MSG Cares, a philanthropic matching program of Manhattan Strategy Group (MSG) that supports employee volunteerism, exceeded its charitable giving target with overwhelming employee support for the December Donation Drive. Employees raised over $5,000 with a 1:1 corporate match, resulting in $10K in donations to partner organizations.

“I’m very proud to see that the MSG Cares initiative exceeded its donation target for the charities selected by our employees. MSG was happy to match all funds raised by our team,” said Shezad Habib, MSG Founder, President and Managing Director. “It’s great to start the new year with a focus on helping others and I’m excited about the potential that MSG has to make a difference in our work and beyond.”

MSG Cares partners with local charities and community organizations focused on: children, youth and families; career pathways; early childhood and adult education; family engagement; nutrition assistance; and homelessness. Partnering organizations include:

  • Martha’s Table, an active charity with a mission of building a better future through healthy food, affordable clothing, and quality education
  • Washington English Center, a community-based program that offers English and literacy training to low-income adult immigrants in the Washington area
  • Bright Beginnings, a nonprofit that operates child and family development centers for homeless children whose families are in transitional housing.

It’s no surprise that MSG’s employees have elected to support organizations that share similar missions to the company’s core competency areas of education, nutrition, and supporting disadvantaged populations. MSG seeks to nurture a work culture that promotes respect, trust, accountability, diversity and teamwork with opportunities for growth and advancement. In turn, it seeks to attract staff members that are interested in supporting the communities the company serves.

Tim Zimmer, Employee Lead for the MSG Cares Initiative, said, “The MSG Cares initiative speaks to our focus on social impact and our foundation in social capitalism. It’s a remarkable experience to see how the initiative is helping our partner organizations achieve their goals at the ground level.”
