The U.S. Department of Labor has awarded MSG a three-year contract to develop computer based training for programs funded under the current Workforce Investment Act (WIA).2014 brought big changes for DOL grantees. In July, Congress authorized the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), which was designed to help job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market and to match employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy.
The act brings many changes in how programs dedicated to this mission much collect and report data about their activities. MSG is tasked with designing and implementing a broad technical assistance effort that will strengthen the workforce system’s ability to effectively implement program reporting-related changes. Through computer-based training and best practices guides, MSG’s efforts will help ETA grantees meet the challenges of WIOA.
Said Managing Partner Shezad Habib, “MSG has strived to be at the forefront of the changing workforce development system. We are incredibly honored to help guide ETA through impending changes, and ultimately help ensure that employers and employees are adequately prepared to meet the challenges ahead.”
