Daniel Barone joins MSG as Director of Business Development

MSG welcomes our new Director of Business Development, Daniel Barone. Dan joins MSG with over 20 years of experience in management and IT consulting, project management, and business strategy and development, and strategic planning. MSG to Evaluate NSF’s SaTC Program

MSG, as a subcontractor to the Savan Group, serves as the technical lead for the design and execute an evaluation of NSF’s Secure and Trustworthy Cyberspace (SaTC) grant program portfolio. MSG paired reviews of extant data sources with new data collection to fully assess NSF’s SaTC investments. MSG is developing and executing an evaluation framework and plan that seeks to respond to research questions concerning: the responsiveness of the SaTC program, the responsiveness of the field, program syntheses, and program improvement.

MSG to Evaluate USDA’s SNAP Education Program

MSG is working with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food and Nutrition Service to examine the costs, reach, and performance of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) initiative. MSG (as a subcontractor to Altarum Associates) will evaluate obesity-prevention outcomes, alignment of similar Federal and State programs. MSG will also inform the development of a standardized template for annual state performance reporting.

The Literacy Information and Communication System (LINCS) Professional Development Center will provide stakeholders with: 1) technical assistance to meet requirements under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), 2) enhanced capacity of state and local partners to establish and operate comprehensive professional development systems, 3) high-quality, evidence-based instructional resources through the LINCS Resource Collection, and 4) professional development training opportunities for adult educators. MSG to Provide Technical Assistance to DOL’s National Farmworker Jobs Program

MSG is working with Sister Sky on the DOL ETA Office of Workforce Investment’s (OWI) Tools and Technical Assistances (DNPTTA) contract. The project supports the National Farmworker Jobs Program (NFJP) with administrative, organizational, analytical, and knowledge and information management tasks. MSG to Support the Implementation of ED’s Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education Program

MSG is working with ED's Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE) to support states and local providers in the implementation of the Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education (IELCE) program. IELCE is a new program authorized in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) focused on workforce preparation and training. MSG will develop presentation and training materials to support states in their understanding of IELCE requirements. MSG will also support states after their IELCE competitions in identifying an eligible provider to be part of a national TA network.

MSG to Evaluate DOL Job Corps’ Career Pathways

MSG, as a subcontractor to Bizzel Group, is supporting Job Corps in responding to requirements specified in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014 (WIOA), which include career-pathway based approaches and more comprehensive student services. MSG to Evaluate USDA SNAP Authorized Retailers Processes and Systems

MSG is working with the U.S Department of Agriculture's Food and Nutrition Services to study services, fees, and business practices of vendors of EBT card processing equipment and services to SNAP authorized retailers. The study will include a nationally representative survey of SNAP-authorized retailers and focus on the services they use to manage EBT payments. Additionally, the project will include interviews with organizations that sell EBT equipment to retailers and organizations that process and settle EBT payments. MSG will report on the services and products available to retailers and best practices for various stakeholders.

MSG Working with SPRA to Support the Workforce Data Quality Initiative

MSG joined the SPRA team to support technical assistance delivery to the grantees of the Workforce Data Quality Initiative (WDQI). The Workforce Data Quality Initiative (WDQI) is an effort by the Department of Labor to support states through grants to develop and enhance state longitudinal administrative databases. The longitudinal databases should link information on individual level training and employment services received to individual outcomes. Ultimately, the WDQI seeks to provide better information to customers and decision makers in the workforce system and improve evaluation capacity of programs being funded. MSG to Collaborate with Savan Group to Support DOL Chief Evaluation Office

MSG is proud to announce its partnership with Savan Group as a subcontractor to a U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Chief Evaluation Office (CEO) project awarded to Savan Group in December 2015. The contract is to support Technical Working Groups (TWGs) on special topics related to Unemployment Insurance. Specifically, MSG will collaborate with Savan Group to identify distinct topics and recruit Subject Matter Experts to participate in three to six working group topical meetings in 2016 and 2017.
