The American Evaluation Association (AEA) held its annual conference ""Evaluation 2012"" on

October 22-27 in Minneapolis. The Manhattan Strategy Group presented at three sessions during the event which focused on Evaluation in Complex Ecologies: Relationships, Responsibilities, Relevance. MSG wins award to provide Grant Review support services to the Office of Innovation and Improvement

Manhattan Strategy Group (MSG), announced today that it was awarded a contract by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Innovation and Improvement, to provide logistical support for the 2012-2013 Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED) Grant Program. Under this contract, MSG will be responsible for instituting the review process in accordance with policies and procedures for federal grant competitions.

MSG wins a five-year award to develop Computer-based Training for the Institute of Education Sciences at the U.S. Department of Education

MSG has been awarded a five-year contract to support the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences (IES) National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) to design efficient and effective Computer Based Training (CBT) modules.

As previously conducted in-person training seminars were insufficient in meeting demand, NCES sought to reformat several multi-day, in-person training seminars into computer-based training (CBT) modules for resource efficiency and to make training available to a larger trainee audience. MSG wins a five-year award to enhance family engagement in 21st CCLC programs

MSG has been awarded a five-year contract to support the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Elementary and Secondary Education in providing technical assistance to support family engagement in 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) programs throughout the nation.

MSG will implement and support the Family Engagement Resource Providers (FERPs) contract to build a national collaborative system of support for family engagement that is linked to student achievement.

MSG wins award to develop Virtual Communities of Practice

MSG has been awarded a two-year contract to support the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Vocational and Adult Education (OVAE) in creating a Virtual Community of Practice (vCOP) around the topic of youth and adult career pathways.

Through this contract MSG will establish a virtual event series that will complement and enhance OVAE’s past and ongoing career pathway work by bringing the career and technical education (CTE) and the adult education communities together. Jennifer Nielsen presents at the AERA Evaluation 2012 conference

Manhattan Strategy Group presented a paper at the American Educational Research Association (AERA) Annual Meeting titled, “Collaborative Educational Resource Development: Facilitating Emerging Science Learning within Formal and Informal Settings.” The paper detailed the resource development efforts of a variety of offices within a federal agency that co-funded research projects to enhance Nanoscale Science and Engineering (NSE) education.
